The Board of Trustees consists of five members who are qualified voters and reside in the City of Buena Park. They are elected by voting districts and serve without pay for four-year staggered terms. Elections are held biennialy in even numbered years ont he same day as state general elections, the frist Tuesday after the first Monday in November.

Vacancies on the Library Board of Trustees
If a vacancy should occur on the Library Board of Trustees prior to the expiration of a term of office, the remaining Trustees may fill that vacancy by appointment or by calling an election at the next established election date.
If the remaining Trustees decide to fill the vacancy by appointment, the selected individual must be officially appointed by the Orange County Board of Supervisors.
